COVID-19 Vaccination

General vaccination against COVID-19 ends in November. However, vaccination slots (for 1st or 2nd doses) will be available in December and onwards for those that were unable to get vaccinated due to being unwell, and for those who turn 12, among other special cases.

To inquire or make a reservation, please call the Vaccination Call Center on 0574-66-1281.

Location: Ota Medical Clinic (Ota Hospital; Ota-cho 2855-1)
Vaccination Dates: Saturdays in December and January from 12:30-13:00 (except the 1st of January)
Availability is limited.
Eligibility: Those who could not complete their 2nd dose & completely unvaccinated people.

(COVID-19) Vaccination - Reservation Start (12 years or older)                        update: 2021 Sep 9
COVID-19 Vaccinations are now available for those aged 12 and up.

Details:
Reservations open from 9:00am~ Sep 10 (Fri)

1. COVID-19 Group Vaccination
The following residents are currently eligible for coronavirus group vaccination in Minokamo City:
・Those 12 years or older
・Those with priority (healthcare workers, teachers, daycare and kindergarten teachers), students taking exams in the final year of middle or high school
(Please contact the call center if you have a chronic illness and have not yet been vaccinated)
Place: Group Vaccination Center, Minokamo Nishi Taiikukan
Reservations: Over the internet, or by phone to the call center (0574-66-1281)

※Children 16 and younger must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Children in middle school or older may be vaccinated without being accompanied if they show a consent form signed and completed by the guardian.

※The vaccine is given in two doses. Make sure you are available on the designated day for the second dose.

※Tagalog/English and Portuguese interpreters will be available on the Sunday vaccination sessions. If you need an interpreter, please book on one of these days.

※Please store your vaccination voucher carefully.

※If you arrive early, you may have to wait outside, so please arrive on time.


2. Individual Vaccination at a Medical Institution
The following residents are currently eligible for coronavirus vaccination at a medical institution in Minokamo City:
・Those 12 years or older
・Those with priority (healthcare workers, teachers, daycare and kindergarten teachers), students taking exams in the final year of middle or high school.
(Please contact the call center if you have a chronic illness and have not yet been vaccinated)
Reservations: Call the medical institution directly.


3. Expecting Mothers and their family are also eligibleExpecting mothers can book:
A) A group vaccination for Saturday the 18th of September (250 slots available)
Time: 8:50; 9:20; 10:20; 10:50.
Reservations: Call the Call Center (0574-66-1281).

B) Kizawa Memorial Hospital (60 slots available)
Reservations: Call the hospital directly (070-5597-0688; weekdays 13:00-16:00).

Live in family of expecting mothers can book a group vaccination as written above online or through the call center, or at their chosen medical institution by contacting them directly.

From Thursday 26th of August, those 30+ years of age, and pregnant mothers, their spouses (or partners) and family living with them can make reservations for a COVID-19 vaccination.

Vaccination Times

・For pregnant mothers:
① Group Vaccination Venue (Minokamo City Nishi Taiikukan) (250 people)
Saturday 18th of September, 8:50am, 9:20am, 10:20am, or 10:50am.
Book through the Call Center (0574-66-1281)

② Kizawa Memorial Hospital (60 people)
Book by calling the hospital directly. Consult the hospital to organize vaccination time and date.

・For spouses, partners and coinhabiting family members of the pregnant mother:
Book your vaccine as normal at either the Group Vaccination Center (online, or by calling the Call Center on 0574-66-1281) or your chosen participating medical institution by calling them directly.
Bookings opened at 9am on Thursday the 26th of August.

2nd EMERGENCY & NATURAL DISASTER VOLUNTEER INTERPRETING MEETING                                                                                                                     update: 2020 Dec 28

If you’re a foreign resident of Minokamo or surrounds, and you are interested in volunteering as an interpreter if a disaster occurs, please attend !
A ‘Disaster Volunteer Interpreter’ helps interpret between non-Japanese-speaking residents and the government in an evacuation center when a disaster occurs.

Meeting Contents :
We will discuss how scary disasters are, and the inconvenience of living through them, learn about the various problems that can occur in such circumstances, and think about how best to support people as interpreters and supporters in such times.

 

Presenter :
TAKAHASHI Nobuyuki, Director of the Nationwide Association of Multicultural Coexistence Managers (NPO) and Chief of the International Relations Section in the Cabinet of Funabashi City. 

This year, we will receive Mr. Takahashi thanks to CLAIR Local Government Internationalization Association’s Regional Internationalization Promotion Advisor Dispatch Programme. Mr. Takahashi has demonstrated and valuable experience coordinating supporters for foreign residents in times of disaster.

Please wear a mask to prevent spread of the novel coronavirus. Please check your temperature before coming, and if you have a higher temperature than normal, contact the City Hall and refrain from attending. If many people want to attend, we may restrict the numbers for safety reasons by choosing 25 participants at random.


(COVID-19) Gifu Prefecture Coronavirus Infection Prevention
                       Cooperation Payment                               update: 2020 Dec 17

Request to Shorten Business Hours, and the corresponding ‘Second Gifu Prefecture Coronavirus Infection Prevention Cooperation Payment’


1. Summary

    To restrict the further spread of the Novel Coronavirus, businesses that shorten their business hours in accordance with the request from the Gifu Prefectural Government and for the entire duration of the request will receive a support payment (“The Second Coronavirus Infection Prevention Cooperation Payment”).


2. Payment Amount

 1 million yen per venue (information accurate as of 15 December 2020)

3. Application Requirements

 Applicants must fulfil all of the following requirements:

 ● Be an eating or drinking establishment that serves alcohol (including karaoke and live music venues where alcohol is served)

    ◇ Be operating under the required permit for eating and drinking establishments (Inshokuten-eigy?-kyoka) and serve alcohol. However, take-away only stores, delivery only stores, food trucks, and supermarkets and convenience stores with an eat-in space are not eligible.

  ◇ Have been in operation before the Friday the 18th of December 2020 (the beginning of the period in which business are requested to shorten their hours) and be able to provide clear evidence of their preexisting business operations.


 ● Shorten business hours as requested between Friday 18th of December 2020 and Monday 11th of January 2021, ceasing to operate between 21:00 and 5:00 the next morning each day, cooperating in full without exception.

  ◇ ‘Cooperating in full without exception’ refers to the shortening of hours of all relevant businesses in the region(s) whose authorities issue requests to shorten business hours, for the complete period that the Government requests. Closing for the entire day is also acceptable.


 ● If the venue is a live music venue, host/hostess club (or similar, involving one-on-one direct customer service at close range), or a karaoke venue, has created, submitted, and received confirmation of a Coronavirus Prevention Manual.


 ● Have no connection of any kind to an anti-societal or violence group, or organized crime group.


4. Application Procedure

   By post. In-person applications are not accepted.

3Necessary Documents (Draft information)

   Please fill out and attach all of the following documents. 

   Further information and application forms will be posted on the Gifu Prefecture website on Friday the 18th of December 2020.

   1.  Application Form (with store details, business registration number, and written oath);

   2.  Documentary evidence of business operation;

    ◇ Copy of Tax Return, copy of financial records of the business from before the period of shortened hours.

    ◇ Photos of the inside and outside of the venue.

   3. Evidence of the shortened hours;

    ◇ Something that clearly states that hours will be shortened, that is visible to the general public.

    ◇ For example: a poster or leaflet in the venue, or a sign on the venue’s website.

   4. Documentary evidence that alcohol is sold;

   5. Evidence of registration as an eating or drinking establishment;

   6. Copy of the Coronavirus Prevention Manual (only for live music venues and host/hostess bars and the like; if the manual was submitted for the prior payment and is still the same, it does not need to be submitted again);

   7. Copy of a document with the applicant’s bank account information;

(COVID-19) Temporary Closure of Public Facilities                        update: 2020 Dec 14

64 people has been infected with the novel coronavirus within Minokamo City.
To prevent further spread of the virus, the following public facilities will be temporarily closed. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
However, the facilities will be used in times of disaster, or during an election.

Please note that the closure period may extend depending on the circumstances.

From December 16, 2020 (Wed.) to January 7, 2021 (Thu.)
(The General Welfare Center (Sougo Fukushi Kaikan) will be closed starting December 12, 2020 (Sat) )

(COVID-19) When to Seek Medical Advice                                         update: 2020 August 3

If you are experiencing at least one of the following, please seek medical advice.
(You may seek advice even if none of the following applies.)

1. Extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, high fever or other severe symptoms.

2. Comparatively milder symptoms such as cough or fever if you are a person that is at high risk
(the elderly, those with underlying conditions such as diabetes, cardiac problems, respiratory conditions such as COPD, those undergoing dialysis, anti-cancer or immunosuppressive medication)

3. Milder cold symptoms such as cough or fever that have continued for a long period of time
(Please seek advice if symptoms continue for 4 days or more. Symptoms vary by person, so if you think your symptoms have become severe, or if you need to keep taking anti-fever medication, please seek advice.)

(COVID-19) Infections in Minokamo City                                           update: 2020 August 2

In Minokamo City, more than 10 foreign residents have been tested positive in just 2 days of the Novel Coronavirus infection.

Let us continue doing our best to avoid infection by wearing a mask, washing hands, gargling, and avoiding going out unnecessarily.

We are also asking everyone to please avoid places with large group of people such as clubs, church activities and if possible please refrain from doing family gatherings or parties.

Requesting owners of sports gyms, clubs, heads of churches (priests and pastors) to please take precautionary measures to avoid infection among their patrons by maintaining distance with each other, making sure that the place is well-ventilated and disinfecting thoroughly.

Bear in mind that you will not just be protecting yourself and your family but also be aware that there is also a possibility that you may infect other people.


This is something that can happen to anyone so,
let us continue to do our best in preventing infection.

with the novel coronavirus.

This is something that can happen to anyone so,

Minokamo Takeout Coupon Program for Childrearing and
Medical Worker Households                                                              update: 2020 June 12

As a novel coronavirus support measure, local food takeout coupons (Ouchigohan support coupons) will be given to medical worker households, and to households that have children (born from April 2, 2005 to March 31, 2020) and are registered in the Residence Registry of Minokamo city as of March 31, 2020.

Please check the instructions (sent along with the coupons) on how to use the coupons and refer to the participating list of restaurants below. The coupons may be used for either takeout or dining in.

It's a rare opportunity to try the local delicacies offered by various restaurants in Minokamo, so make sure to use your coupons!

(COVID-19) Regarding Response Measures Against the Novel  Coronavirus                                                                                                            update : 2020 May 15

1. All elementary and middle schools in Minokamo will reopen in stages (including Futaba Middle School)
a) Some attendance will begin from the 25th of May (more details will be released soon)
b) From the 1st of June, schools will run with students split into alternating groups that attend school separately for two weeks


2. All nurseries and kindergartens in Minokamo will open in stages
- Childcare facilities will run as normal from the 1st of June


3. Public facilities in Minokamo (including public institutions under private management) will open in stages from the 1st of June


4. City parks and forests will open
-From the 16th of May, parking lots will be reopened for use.
