18．Disaster Prevention

On the Minokamo City website’s “Disaster Prevention Guide” there is a Hazard Map, and a list of the things that one should bring in the case of an emergency evacuation. 

You can check announcements that have been broadcast on Minokamo City’s public speaker system on Sugu Mail, the City’s email advisory distribution service.

After an announcement has been broadcast, you can also check it by telephone. For more details, please refer to the Sugu Mail page.

19．Fire Brigade

The Fire Brigade is a crucial component of regional disaster prevention, and operates with a strong sense of civic duty and love for one’s hometown.

As of the 1st of April 2019, there are 281 members, and apart from the headquarters and music band, there are 33 in each district (apart from Miwa and Ibuka that combined have 53).

Fire Brigade members are chosen from each district with the assistance of the local Neighborhood Association.
