17th of August.

(COVID-19) When to Seek Medical Advice                                         update: 2020 August 3

If you are experiencing at least one of the following, please seek medical advice.
(You may seek advice even if none of the following applies.)

1. Extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, high fever or other severe symptoms.

2. Comparatively milder symptoms such as cough or fever if you are a person that is at high risk
(the elderly, those with underlying conditions such as diabetes, cardiac problems, respiratory conditions such as COPD, those undergoing dialysis, anti-cancer or immunosuppressive medication)

3. Milder cold symptoms such as cough or fever that have continued for a long period of time
(Please seek advice if symptoms continue for 4 days or more. Symptoms vary by person, so if you think your symptoms have become severe, or if you need to keep taking anti-fever medication, please seek advice.)

(COVID-19) Infections in Minokamo City                                           update: 2020 August 2

In Minokamo City, more than 10 foreign residents have been tested positive in just 2 days of the Novel Coronavirus infection.

Let us continue doing our best to avoid infection by wearing a mask, washing hands, gargling, and avoiding going out unnecessarily.

We are also asking everyone to please avoid places with large group of people such as clubs, church activities and if possible please refrain from doing family gatherings or parties.

Requesting owners of sports gyms, clubs, heads of churches (priests and pastors) to please take precautionary measures to avoid infection among their patrons by maintaining distance with each other, making sure that the place is well-ventilated and disinfecting thoroughly.

Bear in mind that you will not just be protecting yourself and your family but also be aware that there is also a possibility that you may infect other people.


This is something that can happen to anyone so,
let us continue to do our best in preventing infection.


(COVID-19) Minokamo City's Countermeasures in Light of the State of Emergency Due to
                       the Second Wave of Coronavirus Infection                       update: 2020 Aug 1

The Gifu Prefectural Government has declared a State of Emergency due to the second wave of coronavirus infection, and as such, Minokamo City will be restricting usage of public institutions from the 1st of August until the 16th of August 2020. The restrictions may be extended based on the state of the infection.

The following institutions will be under restrictions:

■Institutions managed by the Lifelong Learning Division
Lifelong Learning Center (Shogai Gakushu Center), Ota Koryu Center, Kamikobi Koryu Center, Yamanoue Koryu Center, Hachiya Koryu Center, Kamono Koryu Center, Ibuka Koryu Center, Miwa Koryu Center, Shimoyoneda Koryu Center, Makino Koryu Center, Minokamo Cultural Hall (Minokamo-shi Bunka Kaikan), Chuo Library (incl. North Branch), Higashi (East) Library.

■Institutions managed by the Sports Promotion Division
Chutai Plaza (incl. Archery (kyudo) grounds, excluding the training gym), West Gymnasium, all sports fields, all tennis courts, School gymnasium rental.

■Institutions managed by the Cultural Promotion Division
Minokamo Cultural Forest (Bunka no Mori) (excluding the Education center Kyoiku Center, and the café), Dr. Tsuda Sokichi Memorial Museum, Waki-Honjin Old Hayashi Residence and the neighboring Inkyo-ya.

■Institutions managed by the Welfare Division
Sukoyaka Town Sogo Fukushi Kaikan (excl. day service).

■Institutions managed by the Child Affairs Division
Kamono Jidokan, Hotaru-no-Hiroba, San-San Room (inside the Sogo Fukushi Kaikan Bldg.)
※The Suku-Suku Room, the Niko-Niko Room, and the Piyo-Piyo Room are also closed.

■Institutions managed by the Health Care Division
Ajisai Kosodate Hiroba, Odekake Hokenshitsu in Amachi, Kenko Station

■Institutions managed by the Water and Sewage Division
Ajisai Eco Park, Moriyama Water Purification Plant Observation Room

■Institutions managed by the Board of Education
Hokago Jido Club (after school care).
We ask all parents and guardians to keep their children at home as much as possible.

■Institutions managed by the Industrial Promotion Division
Ota-juku Nakansendo Kaikan Hall ※Only room rental will be closed.

■Institutions managed by the Public Works Division
River Port Park Minokamo Visitor House (2F halls), Shibafu Hiroba.
The Visitor house will operate as usual.

■Institutions managed by the Agriculture and Forestry Division
Kenko no Mori (Health Forest)
BBQ, and rental of Mori-no-ya will be closed.

August 19 (Wed) is the deadline to make an Application for Special Government Subsidy. 

For those who have not yet made the application, make the application by August 19 (Wed).

Minokamo Takeout Coupon Program for Childrearing and
Medical Worker Households                                                              update: 2020 June 12

As a novel coronavirus support measure, local food takeout coupons (Ouchigohan support coupons) will be given to medical worker households, and to households that have children (born from April 2, 2005 to March 31, 2020) and are registered in the Residence Registry of Minokamo city as of March 31, 2020.

Please check the instructions (sent along with the coupons) on how to use the coupons and refer to the participating list of restaurants below. The coupons may be used for either takeout or dining in.

It's a rare opportunity to try the local delicacies offered by various restaurants in Minokamo, so make sure to use your coupons!

REOPENING OF MINOKAMO CITY PUBLIC FACILITIES             update : 2020 May 29

From the 1st of June, public facilities in Minokamo City will reopen with usage restrictions.
As the threat of the novel coronavirus has not ended, restrictions will be placed on use in accordance with prefectural and municipal policy to prioritize protecting the health of users.
To prevent infection, please follow the rules when you make use of the facilities. Your understanding and cooperation are essential to prevent infection.
Furthermore, if cases occur within the city, please be aware that restrictions on use may be re-imposed or changed.

1 - Outside facilities are limited to 100 people.
2 - Inside facilities are limited to 50 people, or half of the regular capacity.
Rules vary per institution, so please check with staff.
3 - Activities that regularly require close physical contact are not permitted (for example: judo, kendo, dance, choir, dramatic recitation, party)
4 -  Use the provided paper checklist sheet when using the facilities.
5 - Staff may refuse facility use to those who do not follow staff instructions.

(COVID-19) Regarding Response Measures Against the Novel  Coronavirus                                                                                                            update : 2020 May 15

1. All elementary and middle schools in Minokamo will reopen in stages (including Futaba Middle School)
a) Some attendance will begin from the 25th of May (more details will be released soon)
b) From the 1st of June, schools will run with students split into alternating groups that attend school separately for two weeks


2. All nurseries and kindergartens in Minokamo will open in stages
- Childcare facilities will run as normal from the 1st of June


3. Public facilities in Minokamo (including public institutions under private management) will open in stages from the 1st of June


4. City parks and forests will open
-From the 16th of May, parking lots will be reopened for use.
