Earthquakes
Japan is one of the highest ranking countries in the world in terms of earthquake occurrences. As we recall, the Great Hanshin Earthquake in Kobe took away a countless number of lives and property in a mere second.

Earthquakes are highly unpredictable: they can occur anytime and anywhere. Learning from this past disaster, we should have a minimum amount of personal necessities on hand and always be prepared so as to reduce damage to a minimum.

Everyday precautions
(1) Find the safest place in the house

(2) Put the following items in an emergency bag:
  a. drinking water (about 3 liters for one day's supply for each person)
  b. emergency food
  c. valuables
  d. clothes
  e. flashlights
  f. a portable radio
  g. a first-aid kit
  h. fuel, etc.

(3) Fix furniture with metal brackets to prevent it from falling

(4) Write down emergency phone numbers and names of people who can speak your language that you can contact.

(5) Check the nearest emergency shelter and the route to that shelter.

When an earthquake occurs
(1) First ensure your physical safety, then take shelter in the nearest safe place.

Shelters
The First Shelters and the second shelters are designated in Minokamo city. If evacuation is necessary in any disasters, first shelters will be set up. If first shelters are not enough in the massive disasters, second shelters will be set up.

If shelters are set up, we will announce with public address system.
